Thank you, Marva, for throwing THE NEXT BIG THING over to me this week. And for passing these tough questions, too. Lol.

Let’s take them down the line.

The Ten Interview Questions
What is the working title of your book?

A Heap of Trouble
Where did the idea come from for the book?

I’ve always wanted to write a western romance. One that would include some ‘cowboy’ action—hence the rustlers—a bit of humor—Beggar the ringtail monkey—a mystery—who stole the cattle—and a sheriff that is wooing a purty gal—but a stubborn one.
What genre does your book fall under?

How’s that for a bunch of genres?
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Oh my, I’m not that familiar with actors names. It’s an age thing,  maybe? Lol.
How about the characters the actors play on TV?
Oh, the guy that plays Castle, the writer, on TV would make a great Sheriff Cole Walker.
Loved him in Serenity too.
For Mattie Wells, I can see Penny from the Big Bang Theory. She has the looks but her hair would have to be a bit more on the strawberry side, or a little darker blonde.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Sheriff Cole chases after Mattie who steals his heart, Beggar a monkey who steals the townspeople's jewelry and a gang that steals cattle.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

A Heap of Trouble is published by MuseItUp press.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About four months, but don’t ask me about the editing. That seemed to take forever, probably almost a year.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I guess, and I don’t know if this was a book, but remember the old Maverick series on TV. I would compare it more to that than anything.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I watched B.J. and the Bear again, and I wondered how it would be to go back farther in time, to the old west, with an impish ringtail monkey for a comic sidekick.

What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?
The mystery of who is the rustling boss, the stubbornness of Mattie who refuses to get married—she has a dark secret—the antics of Beggar. Three different conflicts going on and it’s all on Cole to handle this Heap of Trouble.
